I am Second - Matt Barkley

My friend and former teammate USC quarterback Matt Barkley recently had the opportunity to record his "I am Second" testimony. Check it out, He is a solid young man sold out for Christ and grounded firmly in His love!

Keep up the good work Matt!

I am Second® - Vitor Belfort

Vitor’s Story (from iamsecond.com)

Vitor Belfort is living a dream. He is a Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) hero from Brazil with a beautiful celebrity wife and millions of followers around the world. Life must be easy for him, right?

Yet Vitor’s road to his dream was marked by great challenges that brought pain into his life and the spiritual journey that accompanied. First was the challenge to train and be a champion fighter. The next was in seeing significance and balance to a life displayed to the public. Following that came significant grief and pain in a personal tragedy.

It is a road to God that was marked by pain at every step. But he has no pain now—only joy and peace through a relationship with Jesus that he knows can be shared by others.

EHS Huddle - Nov. 18

Edison High School FCA played host to 175 students today! Feeding them pizza, and homemade brownies and cookies! The student leaders led an interactive version of "Hot Potato" that helped the students get to know each other better. Then after the game one of our leaders Rayan Mustafa shared his testimony with everyone. He shared about the emptiness in his heart before he found the Lord, and how he had tried to fill it other things like popularity. He encouraged everyone to find their hope in the Lord and not the things of this earth. Good work Rayan!

Thanks to all the volunteers who showed up to serve the Students! Our next huddle is December 2nd @ lunch in Room 317! See you there!

Marina FCA/The Flood - Nov. 16

Today was another awesome huddle @ Marina High School FCA. I got to share my testimony in front of about 50 students, parents and teachers! It is so exciting to be working alongside these students as they impact there campus for Christ!

But... on a more somber note, we said goodbye to Megan Carr, the FCA area rep for the past 2 years. . Megan will be missed, but the students had a chance to bid her farewell and pray for her today at the meeting! Thanks for your service Megan!!!

And again, a huge THANK YOU to all the Parents who provided and came out to serve the kids a feast today. The students were treated to Costco Pizza, chips and salsa, and dessert @ today's huddle! THANK YOU!

HBHS FCA- 10/26

The huddle yesterday at HBHS was awesome! Over 70 kids showed up to hang out, eat pizza, play games and hear one of our leaders share her testimony. Gotta give a shout out to Madison Hybl, who stepped up and shared her story with all the students yesterday! Way to Go Madison! Also we need to thank Michele Amaral who was generous enough to donate the pizza for the 70 kids who showed up.

God is doing some great work over at Huntington High and we are all excited to be a part of it!

Edison Huddle 10/21

Today was another awesome Huddle at Edison High School, with about 200 students showing up for the meeting. The student leaders led the everyone in an exciting game of NINJA, which was done with lots of laughter! We had such an awesome guest speaker today that while he was speaking you could hear a pin drop. Josh Klinge, an Edison Football Alumni, got real with the students and shared about his struggles that started in high school and led him down a path of destruction. He also shared about the power and Grace of a God who loves us and can transform our lives! Thanks for your testimony Josh!

We were also blessed by Christ Presbyterian Church, who donated the pizza for today's huddle, and by the numerous volunteers and youth pastors who showed up to serve the Students! Thanks!

Enjoy some pictures from the lunch....

Marina Huddle 10/19

Today was another awesome Huddle at Marina High School FCA! We were blessed to have professional skateboarder Richard Jefferson come share his testimony with 45 students. He shared about how the Lord used skateboarding to draw him near, and how as Christians on our campuses we must take a stand for our faith. It was a great message. We were also blessed with another healthy dose of Del Taco tacos, courtesy of our wonderful parent volunteer Cindy Oda. Thanks Cindy!
